1. Who we are
MyTruthTeller (mytruthteller.com) is a trading name of Jesse Schellenger, a sole proprietor in the United States, of 936 Swinks Mill Rd, McLean, VA 22102, United States. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@mytruthteller.com.
2. Camera and microphone
Your video and audio are processed live in your browser and are never uploaded, recorded or stored by us. Only derived numbers (motion, gaze, blink and voice-timing scores) and, where your browser supports speech-to-text, the text of your spoken answer leave your device.
3. What we collect and why
- Account data (email address, login credentials or Google account identifier) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Session data (answer transcripts, signal scores, AI commentary, verdicts) — to run the analysis and show you results. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Credit and purchase records (credit balance, order references) — to apply credits and keep accurate records. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Technical and usage data (IP address, device and browser information, error logs) — for security, fraud prevention, reliability and product improvement. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service.
- Support messages — to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Marketing emails, if you opt in — legal basis: your consent, withdrawable at any time.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database and authentication providers, and the AI providers that generate the dialogue, emotion and comparison commentary from your answer text and scores.
- Stripe, our payment processor, for the sale of credits, payments, invoicing, tax calculation, fraud prevention and refund handling. Stripe collects payment details directly and acts as controller for that data.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting, if needed.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Our providers are based in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. Retention
Account, credit and purchase records are kept while your account is active and for up to seven years afterwards where tax or accounting law requires it. Session transcripts and results are kept only as long as needed to show you your history, and are deleted or anonymised when no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your account and its session data at any time.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database security, so each account can only reach its own data.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. US residents may also have the right to know what data we collect and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do neither. UK/EEA residents can complain to their supervisory authority. Email support@mytruthteller.com and we will respond within one month.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies and browser storage only — to keep you signed in and to run checkout. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but sign-in and purchases will stop working.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We may update this notice and will change the date above when we do.
